Background:

As a consultant, I was tasked with helping the CEO of Beeya Connect, an AI-based applicant tracking system, create a pricing and positioning strategy that would resonate with their target audience and drive growth.

Problem:

Beeya Connect needed a pricing and positioning strategy that would effectively communicate the value of their AI-based applicant tracking system to potential customers, while also ensuring profitability and scalability as the company grows.

Approach:

To develop a comprehensive pricing and positioning strategy for Beeya Connect, I employed the following steps:

  1. Identifying target customer personas: I conducted research and held conversations with HR professionals to understand their pain points and needs. I identified two key buyer personas - Director of HR Danielle and Headhunter Harry - who would benefit from Beeya Connect's solution.
  2. Analyzing pricing strategies: I evaluated three common pricing strategies for SaaS products - cost-plus, competitor-based, and value-based - and determined that a value-based pricing strategy would best align with Beeya Connect's offering and value proposition.
  3. Defining pricing tiers and add-ons: I devised a pricing structure that included a base price, a per active user/month fee, a one-time implementation fee, and optional add-ons such as a reporting dashboard and custom-built features.
  4. Estimating cost savings and value proposition: I calculated the potential time and cost savings that Beeya Connect could provide to its customers, helping to strengthen the value proposition and justify the pricing structure.

The pricing and positioning strategy I developed for Beeya Connect led to the following outcomes:
